    Default Amphibian A12 Pro

OceanLED, a world leader in the design of LED underwater lighting products continues to light the way for the industry with the launch of its NEW Amphibian A12 Pro LED underwater light - designed to illuminate boats and yachts of all sizes.

The A12 Pro follows the popularity of OceanLED’s Amphibian lighting range, renowned for being the world’s first lighting collection designed to be used both in and out of the water. Shining 75 percent brighter than the original Amphibian 12, the A12 Pro is primarily designed for underwater use only, but can be used out of the water for short periods when the boat is running. The light self protects by turning off when it reaches temperature with an inbuilt thermal protection system.

The light is compact, versatile and easy to install. It requires only a 3/8” hole for cable entry, ensuring it can be mounted onto any transom. The A12 Pro’s gunmetal insert houses 12 LED lights arranged in a unique linear configuration, whilst extensive OceanLED research has enabled all electronics to be built directly into the unit alleviating the need for an external LED driver.

A key feature of the A12 Pro is its unrivalled brightness against any other comparable LED or Xenon underwater light on the market. Despite it power, the A12 Pro has a low power draw of just 1.8 amp when powered on 12vDC and 0.9 amp when powered at 24vDC - significantly lower than a xenon bulb would require to achieve a similar brightness.

Once fitted, the Amphibian 12 Pro is virtually maintenance free. It is injection moulded in a state-of-the art high tech polymer that is resistant to almost all know solvents and adhesives, and is completely corrosion proof. OceanLED is renowned for using Tritonium glass, and the A12 Pro is no exception. These unique glass lenses have been specifically designed by OceanLED and Tritonium Optical Technologies (a research laboratory specialising in optical systems) to inhibit barnacle build up and ensure that the polymer light lens cannot be scratched like other polycarbonate underwater lights.

OceanLED has recently been granted a US patent for the underwater LED technology behind the original Amphibian range. With the patent in place, the company owns the rights for using collimators with LEDs for underwater lighting. A collimator placed over an LED uses total internal reflection to intensify the projected light by over 500%.

The Amphibian A12 Pro is available in three super bright colours –blue, white and green, ensuring that there is something to appeal to all boat enthusiasts. It retails at £499.
