    Default Yamaha Remains RNLI Partner

Yamaha as official RNLI partner Ė a successful first year Ė with another to follow

Two of the best known and respected names in the marine world are working together in a partnership that brings benefits not only to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) and Yamaha Motor UK, but also to boaters throughout the UK.

    ● Every purchaser, using an authorised dealer, buying a new Yamaha outboard engine, from the smallest F2.5 to the mighty V8 F350, will receive a 12-month free RNLI Offshore membership worth £68, while supporting the RNLI.

These same RNLI benefits also apply to new purchases of Yamaha E-drives and WaveRunner PWCs from authorised Yamaha dealers in the UK.

Members will receive free RNLI publications including The Lifeboat, RNLI Compass and Offshore for those who actively enjoy the sea. Other benefits include free sea safety advice and product discounts, an RNLI membership card giving access to the RNLIís College in Poole and the opportunity to attend the RNLIís Annual Presentation of Awards.

The new partnership is a natural progression of the existing supply relationship between Yamaha and the RNLI. The charity has been using Yamaha outboards on various rescue craft for more than15 years. More recently, the company has not only specified Yamaha WaveRunner VX personal watercraft for RNLI lifeguard beach rescue, but also selected the F115 outboard to power the fleet of Atlantic 85 inshore lifeboats.

Yamaha have always been proud to supply equipment and products to the RNLI, knowing that these engines and personal watercraft were chosen by the RNLI because of their engineering quality, design and reliability. After all, when RNLI volunteer lifeboat crew and lifeguards put to sea for a rescue they need to rely completely on their equipment.

Yamaha – the real power behind the RNLI inshore B class RIBs
The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) have been using Yamaha outboards on various rescue RIBs for more than 15 years.
The B class RIB usually operates closer to shore than all-weather lifeboats, in shallower water, close to cliffs, among rocks or even in caves.

There are two types of B class lifeboat – the Atlantic 75 and the Atlantic 85 both powered by Yamaha. The latest in the fleet are the Atlantic 85 class inshore rescue RIBs that are designed to work in extreme conditions. The twin Yamaha F115 outboards are fitted with special water-proof inversion systems that allow them to continue working, after re-righting following a capsize.

The older and smaller Atlantic 75 is powered by twin Yamaha two-stroke outboards with a similar specification, but only requires three crew instead of four. Both have a survivor capacity of 20 persons and have saved thousands of lives over their service.
