Jets Marivent dealership, Explorer Marine, will be manufacturing two 5.5m Dive RIBs equipped with 60hp EvinrudeŽ E-TECT engines, for use as Support and Rescue craft during the Interceltic Watersports Festival.
The Festival will take place at various locations in Cornwall from 24th - 29th July, and Falmouth's Events Square will also host a Marine Market, between 26th - 29th July. These events aim to raise public awareness of watersports, and to encourage and inspire people to get out on, in and under the water.
Caroline Carfrae, Manager of Explorer RIBs, commented, "We are proud to be involved in the Festival, supporting the international promotion of watersports. The Dive RIBs have been chosen for their safety and reliability. They will feature high-visibility yellow hypalon tubes and a deep "V" hull suitable for coastal waters, making them ideal rescue craft."
The 60hp EvinrudeŽ E-TECT has an in-line two-cylinder powerhead and an exclusive exhaust water valve that uses cooling water pressure to help regulate engine timing, boosting torque. The E-TECT is the only outboard engine which meets, without modification, the EPA and EU 2006 emissions limits.
The Interceltic Watersports Festival is a unique international Celtic event featuring sailing, surfing, kayaking, fixed and sliding seat rowing, diving and windsurfing. There will also be entertainment and a Celtic Market. This year, the Festival is expecting approximately 600 competitors to take part, representing ten Celtic regions from across Europe including Cornwall, Isle of Man, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, Brittany, Galicia, Asturias, Euskadi (Basque Country) and North Portugal.
