I am concidering the purchase of a Ballistic Mako 6.5m here in Hawaii from the local dealer. Due to lack of availability of new units here in the islands, the dealer only has ribs with transom heights that will handle motors with a leg length of a least 25". Thus, the Yamaha engines I was concidering(60h.p) are not long enough. 90h.p. models would fit but, the dealer thinks these, used in a pair, would be too heavy and that it is more power than I could use practically. I would like input from experienced rib owners(especially Ballistic) on what they think about these combinations. The motors in 90h.p. would weigh approx. 800lbs., vs. aprox 500 lbs. for the 60's. Sorry, for the measures that are not metric. We are a little slow to catch up around here....Thanks and Aloha......
